Water ingress behind cladding

Buildings and Construction

The time, cost and energy saving applications for drones and thermal cameras in construction are vast. Thermography surveys are an effective method of non-destructive testing for finding faults in buildings, ducts, tanks and pipes, such as poor or degrading insulation, thermal bridging, moisture ingress and heat loss. Our Cat 2 thermographers work in accordance with BS EN 13187 for buildings and BS EN 62446 for photovoltaic panel inspections. Our thermal cameras are calibrated annually to ensure accuracy.

Examples of services provided by Environmental Drones Services Ltd are:

❖ Monitor your construction project as part of project management tracking
❖ Volumetric estimation of stockpiles and spoil heaps.
❖ Internal and external thermal surveys to determine sources of heat loss, reducing your energy usage
❖ Thermal comfort assessment
❖ Determine areas of water ingress to quickly fix the leak
❖ Inspection of roof solar panels

Commercial Building Imagery & Thermography

We offer whole building surveys covering the interior and exterior. This includes aerial thermal imaging and aerial photography of roof furniture and infrastructre for signs of damage.

We can offer panoramic thermal images and thermal mapping of large areas such as large roofs for water ingress and areas of heat in landfill sites.

Thermography can be used to obtain a BREEAM credit, when conducted by a Cat 2 thermographer in accordance with BS EN 13187. These surveys check for continuity of insulation in accordance with the construction drawings, avoidance of excessive thermal bridging, avoidance of air leakage paths through the fabric (except through intentional openings) and any defects identified via the post construction inspections are rectified.

Commercial Building Solar Panels

Commercial solar panel inspections are conduced by our CAA approved pilots in accordance with BS EN 62446. Images are assessed by a Cat 2 thermographer.

Environmental Drone Services Ltd can inspect your roof panels for signs of soiling, damage and faults. Faulty or over heated panels and hotspots can pose a fire risk to the building, while soiling costs you money from reduced power generation and increased draw from the national grid. We can rapidly highlight areas of concern, helping you maximise your energy production safely. We can also image inverters, transformers and electrical connections.

Domestic Dwellings & Housing Stock

Environmental Drone Services Ltd uses thermal cameras, thermal drones and high resolution photography to image dwellings and housing stock.

Thermal cameras can be used to look for signs of heat loss through missing or poor insulation, water ingress, thermal bridging and ventilation heat loss around doors and windows. Thermal imaging can be used to map hot pipes and underfloor heating, helping you plan your home improvement project.

Thermal drone technology can be used to inspect solar panels and high resolution photographs of the roof and chimneys captured at the same time. Our solar panel surveys are conducted to BS EN 62446. We are CAA approved.
